Music
Music joined our family on April 19, 2007. He is a 2 year old Black Lab/German Shephard mix. He came to us from the Tri-County Humane Society. Krista went to see all the puppies that were at the humane society and saw Music. He was lying down and very quiet. He looked at Krista with his big brown eyes and she knew that he was our dog. She called Abe at work and he went and met her at the humane society after work. We got to spend a little bit of time with Music alone at the humane society and then decided to bring him home that day.
Music gave us a big scare after we had him for one month. Krista came home from work to find that he was very sick. He needed to go the vet, but it was after hours so we had to take him to the emergency clinic. He spent the night and was given some medicine and IVs. He has fully recovered but we do not allow him to have any human food, as this was quite possibly the cause of him getting very sick.
He is a very sweet boy who loves attention, both receiving and giving. He has changed quite a bit since we first got him. When we first brought him home, he was calm and submissive. His favorite thing to do was sleep and he did that alot. Since, we have gotten him many toys and introduced him to Hunter and Charlie. Music and Hunter get along great and love to play tug of war and chase each other. They are a blast to watch. Music loves toys, especially if they have squeakers inside them. He takes it on himself to remove the squeaker as quickly as possible.
From May to July of 2007, we took Music to obedience classes. Music performed very well in these classes. He learned to sit, lye down, touch, leave it, wait, stay, and heel. Music did better at the beginning of classes and seemed to get bored of doing the commands towards the end of classes. We worked with him outside of classes as well. Music did very well on his final test and scored a 96 out of 100. We were very proud of him. He continues to do very well with the commands and we will continue to keep working with him.
